Understanding the Search Log

Here is why some Keywords are in the log one day and not the next.
The Log Truncates the oldest searches by removing the last listings in 2 major ways.
First by removing those searches that are over the 600th place in the log and only 1 search.
Second by periodically removing keyword searches not searched in the last 25000 searches.
These along with a few other factors make up the resulting Search Engine display log.
The cycle of the search data will be posted at the completion of each update.
Displaying the current Period of the log and keywords in the Search Dictionary.
The Current Display Log for the Period will equal the Total Search Log for the Period
for only a minute as the filters will start shrinking the Current Display Log.
Currently this leaves some part of the last 150,000 searches and the last 500-2500
keyword searches in the log at all times.
So search words with 10 or 20 searches may be gone from the public log.
Occasionally, a keyword search with a couple of hundred to over a thousand searches
may disappear from even an old Current Display Log.
Look in a few days and see again.

The system creates daily backups of the Search Log.
Those backups are then used to compile the search data.
This data is used to feed the 2-Pass Compiler creating the Search Dictionary.
